Up to km 28 a very nice tour then it gets rough. first an S3, then an S4 is no longer drivable for me. At about KM30 turn right to Visp. I would take this route. No idea whether that is better but with our red there are paths that cannot be ridden and the bike has to be carried sideways over bars along
