The Refuge Albert 1er is an alpine refuge in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc section of the Club Alpin Français. It consists of a wooden hut from 1930, which is now used as a winter hut, and a newer stone building directly above, which is cultivated in summer. The hut is named after King Albert I of Belgium, who opened it on August 30, 1930. The stone building was erected in 1959.
The hut is located above the lateral moraine of the Glacier du Tour, which is used to climb to the hut. The valley location is Le Tour, on the one hand a path connects it to the lower end of the lateral moraine (height difference 1300 meters); on the other hand, a cable car and a chairlift can be taken to the Col de Balme, from which a path leads to the upper part of the lateral moraine (difference in altitude 500 meters).
