Gänskopfhütte

The Gänskopfhütte (743 m) is located on the extreme south side of the Fichtelgebirge in the area of the municipality of Kirchenpingarten. It was built in 1970/71 by the members of the local group Weidenberg as a hiking base and therefore celebrated its 40th anniversary.Always worth a visit!Not far from the Westweg, the Gänskopfhütte is the destination of many hikers all year round. Especially in winter it becomes a welcome stop for many ski hikers and cross-country skiers who, for example, make a detour from the former cross-country ski trail from the Bayreuth house to the Königskron forester's house for a snack at the Gänskopfhütte.Every weekend members of the local group Weidenberg slip into the role of the hut landlord and serve the Gänskopfhütte on a voluntary basis. Beautiful hut with a great view of the valley and the Rauhen Kulm. There are small snacks and delicious cakes

Attention: only open on Saturdays and Sundays, it is better to read the FGV website beforehand! Otherwise great up there! Great food and great prices, great hut staff!
