The Lohheider See is located in Duisburg-Baerl on the edge of the Baerler Busch and is a popular local recreation area for cycling, hiking, swimming and sailing. It was created by mining gravel and sand. Once around on the bank are approx. 4.6 km with a beautiful view from many places. The lake is about 0.5 km².
