At 56 meters, Lake Plön is one of the deepest lakes in Schleswig-Holstein. It is located in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park and is named after the adjoining district town of Plön. The lake is easily accessible from Hamburg, Kiel and Lübeck.
Around the lake there are about 15 designated bathing places, some green, some sandy and some with pebbles. Especially suitable for families is the gently sloping sandy beaches. Here you can not only stroll and swim in the sun, but also sail, dive and fish. If you need a bit more exercise, you will find great trails that lead around the lake. There are even campsites right on the water if you want to make your stay a little longer.
