Hiking

This place, which is located in the middle of a forest, looks quite mysterious. The Alteburg is a geotope made up of basalt columns and a block heap. This rock formation bears witness to the past volcanism, which came to an end ten to 15 million years ago, but is still shaping the landscape of the Vogelsberg today.
