The ladle has been closed for years. One of the most important and safest Albaufstiege is thus blocked by the district office. The denial attitude is clarified by laying stones on the way to illustrate the danger of falling rocks.
About the Pannensteige lead the Swabian-Alb-Radweg and the Alb-Neckar-Radweg - two national bike paths! In addition, several regional bike paths.
You can drive on the tracks anyway - illegally. It is certainly less likely to be killed by a rock than to be "overlooked" and killed on the highway by a reckless motorist.
There are rocks where there are rocks. Already 500 years ago one knew how to deal with the residual risk and to use the ways. Nowadays, the district office is narrow-minded and narrow-minded enough to patronize us.

Despite official blocking the way is good mobile. You can get past the barrier on both sides without difficulty.
It probably concerns liability for the unlikely event that a boulder breaks loose, so everyone has to decide for himself according to the motto "no risk no fun" if he renounces this highlight.

So steep is the climb now again. The gradient, or the slope is almost continuously 6%. Very nice alternative to the street.
Before using the crate, but you should inform yourself, if this is locked. Or you ignored the blockage and drives at your own risk (rockfall!)

With a steep slope down the Swabian Alb - on the left the valley and on the right the slope. It feels like being in the mountains. If the trees do not bear dense foliage you get a nice view of the ruin lying on the edge of the rock. For me an absolute highlight after conquering the Swabian Alb from Ulm ago!

Unfortunately, it is still officially closed due to the risk of falling rocks.
However, it is easy to get around the barriers. Use at your own risk

Closure in the core zone can be avoided. 7-10% is pleasant to drive upwards. Unfortunately, a lot of (e-) bikers met who use downhill as a "race track" (there are a lot of families with young children on foot here on weekends - that doesn't have to be!

Nice ascent to the Alb high with a good drivable slope on a fine gravel road. Partly officially closed due to falling rocks, but the bars are easy to drive around.

Unfortunately still locked but hardly anybody sticks to it ;-)
Definitely a great uphill for every cyclist / biker!
