The church was built in Baroque style in 1708, replacing a late Romanesque predecessor building. From the predecessor building, the church tower standing west of the ship has been preserved. The floor plan of the tower is rectangular and aligned transversely to the ship. The ship presents itself as a hall construction on a rectangular ground plan. North of the ship are the simply designed annex of a sacristy and a vestibule.
