Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
Be careful in Kettwig after the railway bridge! Here the lane is divided into a pedestrian and a cycle path (marked with mandatory signs!) But there are a lot of cars driving over it ?? away, looking for parking! Sometimes dangerous situations! Two of us drove in a row in the last week and were both cleared away with a hit-and-run! My buddy then lay on the hood of a parked car, goddamn it, nothing happened except quite a shock. No witnesses, no law enforcement officers to see!
So watch out for yourself!

Hard to believe that this green and recreation-focused stretch of the Ruhr river was the birthplace of the coal & steel industrial revolution just a couple of hundred years ago.

Great route directly on the Ruhr, no matter how around you drive: from Essen-Werden to Kettwig or in the other direction. Leads along the Kettwig reservoir. Beautiful to drive, maybe not for those who eat the kilometers and choose their routes so that they can achieve the highest possible cut.
For everyone else: a dream!

In principle, the most beautiful, since the only way directly on this section of the Ruhr. Unfortunately mostly overrun and apparently there were still cobblestones on offer, because otherwise I can't explain these totally annoying transverse joints every 100m ... (from Kettwig they stop at least).
