The Haus-Knipp railway bridge crosses the Rhine between Duisburg-Beeckerwerth and Duisburg-Baerl. The main bridge is 186 meters wide and, with this dimension, was the longest-span truss girder in Europe when it opened in 1912.

On April 1, 1910, the construction of the bridge began, which was built with two river pillars over three river openings as a double-track semi-parabolic lattice girder by the Duisburg bridge construction company Harkort. The bridge was completed at the end of March 1912.

On March 5, 1945, the bridge was blown up by German troops in retreat. Since the damage was comparatively minor, the Haus Knipp Bridge was the first railway bridge over the Rhine to be rebuilt in its old form between August 1945 and March 1946.

For 15 years, trains ran on only one track between Duisburg-Beeck and Duisburg-Baerl. After a comprehensive renovation of the superstructure, the bridge has been double-tracked again since the beginning of 2013.

The bridge is an old landmark for navigation on the Rhine. The eponymous manor house Knipp was located in the immediate vicinity of the bridge and was demolished in 1939 at the Rheindeicherhöhung.
