Thalkirchner Brücke

The bridge leads directly to the main entrance of the zoo Hellabrunn and is a good way to change the Isar side.

In the summer months unfortunately overcrowded by families who barbecue on the Isar. Also, if you could always say it: no, it's not foggy!
Right next to it is the entrance to the Munich Zoo!

Mostly overcrowded at the weekend. That cyclists and pedestrians should share the bridge is a bad joke. It is better than RR or MTB driver (if you are faster than 10km / h on the way) to arrange with the cars.

The wooden bridge built in 1989 offers a wonderful view over the Isar meadows and the Flaucher.

Beautiful wooden bridge to Flaucher and animal park. Unfortunately, a lot of traffic and in warm weather masses of people.

The Thalkirchner Brücke is worth seeing because of its construction - a lot of wood and only stabilized by steel knots. Cyclists "have" to stay on the street even if the sidewalk gives the impression that pedestrian / cyclist sharing is desired. That was originally the case, but it was canceled due to "togetherness" problems and cyclists should use the road. But the bridge is also 30 zone :-)

Thalkirchner Brücke offers a beautiful view of the Isar floodplains, but it is not ideal for cyclists.
1. The two footpaths to the right and left of the lane are officially only for pedestrians and therefore actually taboo for cyclists. Nevertheless, they are of course used, which can lead to conflicts with numerous onlookers who rightly point to your footpath.
The numerous lamp posts make the crossing a slalom course.2. The road - for cars and cyclists - is very narrow. There is no more space for cyclists, especially when there is oncoming traffic. This is why most of the cyclists use the footpaths (see point 1)Unfortunately, cyclists were not taken into account with this bridge.
