Clay was extracted from this site to meet the needs of the brickworks during the construction of the Frohnau Garden City. After construction work was completed, the pit was filled with water and turned into a forest lake. Today you can walk along pleasant forest paths around the lake.

Hiking
Originally the development of Frohnau was supposed to extend to the lake, but the First World War interrupted further settlement activity. Today the lake - easily accessible via hiking trails - lies in the high pine forest of the old Bieselheide.
