The engraver Christian Gottlieb Geyser is considered one of the most important miniature painters and engravers of the 18th century. Geyser has such great skill in the art of drypoint etching, miniature painting and the art of writing that even Goethe praises him. ... If the engraver Geyser lives in Gräfestraße 25 200 years ago, the property is left empty in 1977. Only in the 80s does the restoration begin. In 1984-89 the ceramist Johannes Priewe dried the house and started the reconstruction. Three times the demolition of the house is up for discussion. In 1989, the architect Jörg Nowitzki designs a historically based reconstruction project for the GeyserHaus. With the turn of 1989, the restoration comes to a standstill. In 1991 the GeyserHaus e.V. was founded with two big goals. The GeyserHaus will be completely reconstructed and become a meeting place for children, young people, art and culture lovers. From 1992, the club can use the Eutrazzsch Parkbühne and expand its cultural offer.
