    Tips

    May 12, 2017

The roughly 40-meter-high rugged Muldewand near Helsdorf is a very difficult and dangerous hiking terrain, which is recommended primarily for experienced climbers. Especially children, inexperienced and people with fear of heights, the Muldewand is not recommended.
Nevertheless, this natural beauty on the banks of the Zwickauer Mulde between America and Rochsburg is a real peculiarity of the region.

There is a normal path at the foot of the wall, so you do not need any climbing skills for this highlight, but you can climb the wall if you want.

The Muldewand was developed between 1933 and 1944 by Kurt Sachse. In the 80s and 90s then came a few more climbs. The rock is divided into an upper and a lower wall. A wall book lies in the upper part of the wall in a niche (nR) in the old ways. The security funds are partly outdated.

        Height:
        - lower wall about 20m
        - upper wall about 15m

        Rock:
Granulite / storage of biotite granite
