Best known building of the Nordsternpark. It is about 100 meters long and 36 meters high and was inaugurated in 1996.

There are two more double arched bridges in the Nordsternpark, but they are smaller: one is located above the Emscher and the other is across the Lehrhovebruch road.

  • The Amphie Theater is very often visited in summer by good (or not so good) bands and other events.
On the other side of the canal is a huge playground for the "little ones".
There is also a water playground.

  • The arched bridge, a beautiful swinging structure with a view of the Rhine-Herne Canal! Opposite the amphitheater in the middle of the Nordsternpark! It is worth making a detour from the canal here if you are out and about by bike or on foot! There is also a restaurant with a beer garden and a playground for the little ones!

  • The feet of the arch bridge are well lit! Nice to look at in the dark! No matter whether from the top of the bridge or from the bottom of the Rhine-Herne Canal! Definitely a highlight!

  • The double arch bridge is a pedestrian or cyclist bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal and connects the Gelsenkirchen districts of Hessler and Horst. It was completed in 1997 on the occasion of the Federal Horticultural Show on the site of the former Nordstern colliery in Gelsenkirchen. The Horster colliery produced the first coal in 1868 and was the northernmost mine at that time - hence the name "Nordstern".Source: lokalkompass.de/gelsenkirchen/c-kultur/die-rote-doppelbogenbruecke-im-nordsternpark_a950022
