Slab on the Schurenbach spoil heap

At 50 meters, the highest slag heap in the city offers an impressive 360-degree view. Mountain bikers will find the best training conditions here on their own track. Treat each other with respect. The landmark is the "Slab" by the sculptor Richard Serra.

The Schurenbachhalde is a very nice vantage point. When the weather is good, you can see the entire Ruhr area from here.

It doesn't matter whether you climb the stairs or the slowly rising path around it, from the Schurenbachhalde you have a very awesome view over a large part of the Ruhr area! Essen, Bottrop, Bochum, Duisburg, Gelsenkirchen, Oberhausen... And even if you know it yourself, it's always impressive how little city you see and how much green! Always good!
