Am Schlangenberg

On the way to the nature reserve Schlangenberg you wander through picturesque countryside. Sometimes it goes over soft meadows and sometimes it goes through sparse forests. A perfect place to switch off.

Very nice place. Highly recommended, since nature can be experienced very well here.

Great view to Stolberg

Around the Schlangenberg nature reserve - an exciting, high moor-like area!
From the Celtic times until 1883 this area was an earlier ore mine, the “Breinigerberg” mine.
Nature has recaptured the man-made pit. If you look at that, you could call the area the Low Fens in reference to the High Fens.
