Veitsburg and many of its surrounding trails are generally dog-friendly. However, it's always recommended to keep dogs on a leash, especially in crowded areas or near historical structures, and to clean up after them. Specific rules might apply to indoor areas of the restaurant or youth hostel, so it's best to check directly if you plan to enter with your dog.
