A great bike and hiking trail. From the death strip back to nature.
The Berlin Wall Trail marks the former GDR border installations to West Berlin. It has a length of approx. 160 kilometers around the former West Berlin. Meisetens you drive / walk on the former West Berlin customs route or on the column route of the GDR border troops.

In winter you have most of the way to yourself.
Sections with cobblestone, loose forest floor, possibly deep mud.
You are never very far from food options, but you rarely come across them directly.

We are about to migrate the Wall Trail completely. We only need the inner-city kilometers. The road is so great, nature has recaptured a lot. A historic way to stop at the memorial stones, to read the stories of the victims - very depressing. But highly recommended.

The Berlin Wall Trail is a great bike tour for anyone interested in the history of Berlin and the Berlin Wall. The path leads along the former border that divided the city in two from 1961 to 1989.
While there are countless information signs and works of art to be found along the way that are reminiscent of the past, the trail also offers a glimpse of Berlin's present. On the way you can, for example, cycle through the districts of Kreuzberg and Neukölln and experience the pulsating life of the city.

steeped in history, there are some signs or explanatory panels on the route.

Beautiful bike path with a great surface through an interesting area. Highly recommended and one of the first quiet spots when you have left the hectic city behind. A piece of it should not be missing in any tour.

From my point of view, this northwest section of the Wall Trail is the most beautiful between forests such as the Spandau Forest and the lakes of the Havel.
