In 1722, the Saxon Chancellor Heinrich Graf von Bünau bought the property. He had a baroque three-wing complex built on the foundations of the monastery according to plans by the council carpenter George Bähr.

The castle is located directly at the Diesbar-Seußlitz steamboat landing, with paid parking. It's a convenient place to park your car if you want to start your tour from there. Right in front of the castle, you can choose between a pub and an Italian restaurant, and the park is a great place to stroll around the small lake.
