Here on the Wanneberg, above Meßhofen, lies the Wanne chapel on the edge of the forest. It is a pilgrimage chapel whose origins date back to the 17th century. Today's construction was initiated in the late 18th century by the last imperial abbot of Roggenburg, Thaddäus Aigler. The chapel developed into a popular place of mercy, especially in the 19th century. Pretty chapel with a fine bench under shady trees. Very good for a break.
