This railway station from the late 19th century. is stop of the Emscher Valley Railway (RB43) and with the tunnel under the tracks a fast and almost car-free connection between the Huckarder town center and the Hansa colliery.
Amusingly, the station was set in its construction in 1878 in the middle of the Altfriedstraße, in revenge for a lost lawsuit against a local resident. Because of this peculiarity, the Huckarder Nordbahnhof is also referred to as "Huckarder Unikum".
