The Wulfsche pond was then one of the Napier Barracks of the British army. Originally designed as a cooling pond, for a problem with the here stored nuclear warheads of the US Army in the Cold War. Since the British withdrew in the 1990s, nature has found its way back.

Hiking

The Wulfsche Teich is a body of water in the Buschei Nature Reserve in Dortmund, which was formerly used as a firefighting pond. It is located in the western part of the reserve. The Wulfsche Teich served as a firefighting pond during the period of military use of the area by the British Rhine Army.
