If you look through the window of this pristine bridge, you will see the river wedding of Ilm and Saale, ie the mouth of the Ilm in the Saale. The Ilm has traveled over 120 kilometers from the Thuringian Forest to here.

The bridge was built in 1753. It was the only connection of the salt road over the Ilm with the Saalfelder country. In 1991, it was restored.

In 1991 this building was extensively renovated and the environment redesigned. The bridge was completely removed, and it turned out that only the three main girder beams were still to be used. All other wooden parts were rotten and had to be replaced true to the original. The roof was freshly covered with new historical tiles.
The house bridge, as a unique building in a circle, is a listed building.
Can be used directly on the bike path and as a crossing by bike.
