The Brenner Pass is one of the most important and efficient north-south connections across the Alps in Europe. At an altitude of 1,370 meters, it connects the Austrian state of Tyrol with the Italian province of South Tyrol. In addition to the motorway and country road, the pass is also crossed by a railway line.
