The Tamsel Castle (Palac Dąbroszyn in Polish) is located in Dąbroszyn (Tamsel) and was built by Hans Adam von Schöning around 1686 after his return from the siege of Ofen (1684/1686) (now Budapest) and the successful storming with the help of Greek craftsmen. Before the Battle of Zorndorf in 1758, the castle was sacked by Russian troops and much was destroyed. The plant became famous through Theodor Fontane and his work Walks through the Mark Brandenburg. In the last days of World War II, the commander of the First Byelorussian Front, General Zhukov, lived in the undamaged castle while preparing for the Berlin operation. Towards the end of the war it was used as a military hospital for the Red Army. In the meantime, the lower floor could be restored with EU funds up to 2004. However, the funds were only sufficient for part of the work and meanwhile the castle is half-finished for sale and an investor is being sought.

Unfortunately only a closed ruined building but with a venerable stock of trees from the former castle park in front of it.

It's a shame, the castle has seen better days.
        The park is beautiful.

There is a large ginkgo tree in front of the castle.
The castle is very dilapidated. The park has great trees.
It used to be a very beautiful place with an interesting history

According to unwritten records, the baroque palace in Dąbroszyn (1680-1690) was built for the rich loot that Marshal von Schlöning obtained from the Turks near Vienna. His captives also came to the Warta - two beautiful Turkish women. One of them - Fatima, later Maria Anna von Spiegel, was the mistress of the Polish king Augustus II the Strong. The romantic palace and park in Dąbroszyn was in 1731 the place of an affair between the 19-year-old Prince Frederick, the future King of Prussia - Frederick II the Great, with Eleonora von Wretsch, the wife of the heir of Dąbroszyn.
The palace park, today divided by the Kostrzyn - Gorzów road into lower and upper parts, was not only the scene of extraordinary romances, but also a place of unusual spectacles. In a deep gorge in the Upper Park, at the end of the 18th century, an obelisk was spectacularly unveiled in honor of Frederick II's brother - Prince Henry of Prussia. The ceremony was made more attractive by staging a theater performance recreating Prince Henry's heroic crossing of the Czech Gabel Pass. A historical performance that took place, among others, on the Devil's Bridge hanging over the gorge, it was also admired by numerous residents of nearby villages.
The Dąbroszyński palace is an interesting place. The monuments, sculptures and pavilions located around the neo-Gothic palace today were silent witnesses of the extremely romantic history of this magnate residence.
