This rare railroad drawbridge was built according to the system of American engineer William Donald Scherzer between 1946 and 1954 and is a listed building. It can be visited on the day of the open monument.

The bridge is worth a photo stop. You should also treat yourself to the feeling of standing on the bridge when a train passes over it...unique. Definitely a stop when the bridge is folded up for ship traffic. A real landmark of Oldenburg.
