The Reken tower windmill rises up on a hill and is visible from afar. It is one of the most beautiful and oldest of its kind in Westphalia. The cap with the mighty wings, which have a wingspan of 22 meters, rests on a thick stump of quarry stone. They could be turned in the right wind direction with the help of the "Krühstertes" (turning tail). In 1972, after a thorough renovation, the Reken local history association set up a museum in the mill. The main theme of the museum is "from sowing to reaping". Many of the tools and machines needed on this subject were in use by 1945. Households and handicrafts show how, in the past, most large households were supplied without the household appliances that are commonly used today.

Over the years, numerous outbuildings have been grouped around the Reken windmill to form a small open-air museum. There is the "Backhus" where bread is baked on special occasions. The "Immenschur" (bee house), the "Pütthus" (cooling fountain) and the "Museschoppe" set on trapezoidal stones to protect against rodents.
