The Waldkapelle is wonderfully quiet and on beautiful hiking and cycling trails. It is open to visitors during the day. A document from 1686 refers to the place of worship. Hermits lived there until March 3, 1879, and looked after the chapel. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and houses a representation of a "Pieta", a statue representing the Sorrowful Mother.
For centuries, the forest chapel has been a place for many believers. There are a number of legends surrounding this place. So it is historical that there was a miraculous spring at this Hermitage, but it dried up many years ago. On the site, (partly covered) picnic and resting areas invite you to linger.
