At the Oberschweinstiege shepherds once grazed the cattle. The so-called forest pasture was a traditional forest use for many centuries. 1592 the Oberschweinstiege was first mentioned. 1779, a forestry building was established, and in 1889, the forester received a Schankgenehmigung. An inn existed since 1895.
The former Waldgaststätte was extensively renovated in 2014 and is now a popular tourist restaurant.
