It is a silent contribution to culture in public space, more precisely a project that started in 2005, was unveiled in 2007 and was completed in 2012 with the installation of the last clay tiles (approx. 1,500). .
On MOZ.de I found the following about the unveiling in 2007: "Its leaves, branches and twigs consist of clay tiles that were individually designed by Rathenowers, but also by the hands of guests of the city. The tiles already made whisper the stories that life writes: a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding, a graduation, the loving tenderness of grandparents and parents for their children, a playful child, a verse or just a greeting. The tree is far from finished - anyone who wants to participate can do so! The more participate, the more dazzling and interesting the tree will be. Year after year it stretches its leaves a little more into the sky and unfolds its splendor. One day the tree will reach the size of 6 x 8 meters.”
