Best Hikes to Belchenhaus
Tips
  • When the weather is nice, the inn is very full due to the cable car. It's self-service - you place your order at the counter and you get drinks straight away. If you want to eat, you have to announce the table number and the food will be brought. This worked extremely quickly during our visit. You take drinks from the bar. It's a simple menu (potato salad with Wiener, schnitzel fries, soup of the day). The cake is delicious.

  • The Belchenhaus is at an altitude of 1360 m.
Hiking trails lead here from all directions, or you can also use the Belchenbahn, whose mountain station is right next to it. We recommend taking a break here with a fantastic view to the south and the🇨🇭!
You can fortify yourself in the rest. Or on the terrace, or have a picnic on the many benches.
In 15 minutes you can also reach the Belchen summit, from where you can enjoy a magnificent 360° view!

  • Rustic cabin right by the mountain station with moderately motivated staff. But the Alsatian tarte cake is world class. Maybe the best in France.
In the outdoor area you can sit on the terrace in good weather. But the seats are limited.

  • Self-service inn. There is simple food. With announcement of the table number the food is brought. Works very fast. Drinks are taken from the counter. In good weather very busy as the cable car brings many tourists to the summit. Can be a bit difficult with a table.

  • The Belchen is 1414 m above sea level. NHN to Feldberg, Seebuck and the Herzogenhorn the fourth highest elevation of the Black Forest. (If the Baldenweger Buck is counted, the Belchen is only the fifth highest elevation in the Black Forest, however, are only surveys from 100 m above sea level as independent mountains, the Belchen is the third highest after Feldberg and Herzogenhorn.) On the summit of the Belchen meet the boundaries of the Municipalities Münstertal, Schönenberg and Kleines Wiesental.

  • A beautiful rustic hut. Good food, nice innkeepers. Easy to reach in summer and winter.
If you could quarter yourself, it would be really great. This is unfortunately not the case.
