    Hiking

The shady cottonwood tree grove at the place where the narrow Cottonwood Canyon opens up to the wide upper Cottonwood Canyon valley is probably the best campsite for the first night of hiking the Cottonwood-Marble Canyon hiking loop. The creek should have water here the longest into the late spring/summer season, but check with the park service before going.
