The Plamort Trail is a true classic. Far above it leads over the picturesque and eponymous high plateau Plamort past the famous tank barriers. The Plamort Trail leads across the Austrian-Italian border and ends at the historic bunker facility. He is one of the easier runs (S1). If you take the Bergkastel cable car from the valley, you will save yourself the tedious altitude of the ascent.

Easy and easy to drive trail over the border Austria / Italy.
Here you can also get to the famous tank barriers and bunkers!

Beautiful, easy (S1) trail over the plateau of the same name and to the famous anti-tank traps. Some of the trails Almtrail, Palmorttrail, Bunkertrail and Etschtrail are collectively referred to as the “Palmorttrail”. It is also a good idea to ride them one after the other (with the Bunker Trail and Etsch Trail in particular being much more demanding than the Palmort Trail!). This trail combination is also known as one of the five “Great Trails” in Tyrol - and rightly so! Beautiful and varied!

For MTB it is almost a must from Nauders via the Stieralm (Bergkasel) a beautiful alp then over to the Plamorboden. Austria / Italy border then to the tank lock and further to the rock viewpoint an indescribably beautiful view towards the south of Reschensee. Departure via the bunker trail or path with some bunkers. You should definitely plan the side trip.

The Palmorttrail is rather flat and goes quite easily over a plateau, partly moorland up to the famous anti-tank barrier. You drive through a beautiful landscape. From the anti-tank barrier onwards, if you choose the bunker trail, it gets much steeper and rougher.

A trail that is easy to ride. It goes through a small raised bog. About small roots with small counter-rises.

It leads through dreamlike nature and constructions from the 2nd World War, which are impressive but at the same time warning, you can see what madness was created here

The trail leads over the Austrian-Italian border, "tank barriers".
In some places it's pretty tough with lots of stones and roots.
                            Great training.
After the barrier on the RIGHT, the real Plamort Trail continues.
Many people go left towards the Plamort viewing rock. (Great panoramic view, highly recommended)

In part, the Palmort Trail is understood to mean the entire combination of Almtrail, Palmorttrail, Bunker Trail and Etschtrail - which combine ideally with one another and result in a sophisticated work of art that is officially and rightly one of the 5 “Great Trails Tirol”. The hardest part is likely to be the section that is actually the bunker trail, which only begins after the anti-tank barriers and scratches the S3 very rough and steep. The actual Palmort Trail, on the other hand, is a meadow trail that is previously flowing and easy (S1) and up and down to the famous anti-tank barriers. Beautiful and worthwhile!

A trail with a history-rich background. You'll often find old bunkers along the way.
The trail is really fun to ride.
