Bike Touring Highlight
One of the most important art addresses of the capital! If you are interested in art, a stop here is mandatory. Here you will find important twentieth-century art, from Cubism to Surrealism to American color field painting, and you'll find names like Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Otto Dix and Morris Louis.
By the way, architecture fans will also get their money's worth here: The museum building was built in the style of Berlin's Modernism by Mies van der Rohe. The building is a landmark of modern architecture and was included in the list of monuments of the state of Berlin.
The only downside at the moment is the fact that the museum is closed since 2015 because of extensive renovations. Originally, the renovation should take four years, should therefore soon be completed (as of June 2019). Until then you can see the holdings in thematic temporary exhibitions in the "Neue Galerie im Hamburger Bahnhof".
