The New National Gallery was the last independent work of the great architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. With the glass upper hall of the museum, he completed his long-term occupation with the flowing, open space. The architect died shortly after the building was inaugurated. The Neue Nationalgalerie, with its steel roof and reduced formal language, is not only an icon of modernism, but also the legacy of a visionary architect of the 20th century.

I stand to be corrected about the following, except the bit about locking your bike up, which is non-negotiable. I didn't actually recognise 'The Eisener Gustav' as a landmark and after some research I do not believe it is. 'The Eisener Gustav' seems to be a Comedy Theatre Piece performed at the Theatre am Potsdamer Platz (which is in the approximate location indicated). The comedy is named after a elderly gentleman who rode his horse from Berlin to Paris in 1928, you can google it.
