This district war memorial erected on September 22, 1879 for the old district of Kempen to commemorate the campaigns of 1864, 1866 and 1870/71. The monument is 24 meters high and the eagle has a wingspan of 3.10 meters. At the front there is a door that used to lead to the upper gallery, but this has been closed for years due to disrepair. On the side of the substructure there are two marble tablets with the fallen, sorted by location. On the back is a portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm I.
