Old parish church, with a single nave and adjoining chapels on both sides. The apse, facing east, has a work altarpiece and a kind of ambulatory. The nave is covered with a pointed vault and the side naves with a quadripartite vault, the ribs of which are enclosed in a carved key or medallions (the former does not distinguish the figure represented, while the latter is sculpted the figure of the virgin surrounded by angels). At the head of the nave in the medallion we can see Saint Peter with the keys. The central nave communicates with the sides by means of orthogonal pillars and semicircular arches. At the foot is the access to the bell tower and the old choir. Two sinks are kept in a cupboard, one is made of marble and is fragmented. Externally it has a voussoir portal, the triangular head u in the north sector is attached to a square bell tower with three floors and a semicircular arch window at the top. The other openings are rectangular. The head has a semicircular apse and a north apse which shows a smooth wall, while the apse is inscribed with Lombard stones and is made of coarse stone with plaster on top.

Parish that belongs to the old town of Sant Esteve, also called Centelles and originally linked to the parish of Sant Martí de Congost or Aiguafreda, but later acquired the functions of a parish that is still preserved. It has been known since 898 as the "Villa Danielis", which derives from the place name of Valldaneu. The church, however, is mentioned until 1007 in Odesind's will, which was sworn on the altar of St. Peter which belonged to the county of Osona. According to the lists of the parishes of the diocese, we can consider that it functioned as a parish already in the first half of the 11th century with the name "Vilar Daniel" and later "Valdaniel". Around 1640 the Romanesque building was almost completely rebuilt and later other renovations were made as evidenced by the date of the main iron gate, "March 17, 1830". Currently the population center is remote and has lost the real character of the parish
