Since the Neolithic period about 6,200 years ago, a settlement has been proven in Brenken by numerous archaeological finds. There is, for example, an earthworks from the Michelsberg culture, a stone chamber grave from the Wartberg culture (now deserted) and a 1000 year old earthwork on the Hahnenberg as a ruin.
