Cadgwith is a small fishing village forgotten by the 21st century, situated on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Fishermen still push their boats up the beach to catch shellfish and wet fish when the weather permits.

With quaint thatched cottages clinging to the valley sides and colourful boats docked in its picturesque harbour, Cadgwith is a quintessential English fishing village. The reason cottages are thatched in Cadgwith is that the village is about as far from the slate-producing regions like Delabole as you can get in Cornwall.

Hiking

The idyllic fishing village of Cadgwith looks like a deep sleep. A large part of the houses is still completely covered in thatch with reeds, the fishermen still drive in colorful wooden boats to the sea. Time seems to be standing still here. There is also a small café and a shop on site, but nothing more. If you are looking for peace and originality, you will feel very comfortable here.
