From the other side of the River Wye it is possible to glimpse the magical 12th Century Tintern Abbey through the trees. Tintern is one of the most spectacular monastic ruins in Wales, even 500 years after its dissolution. However, if you want to take a close look, you'll need to cross the river a kilometre or so further north.

This exceptionally beautiful abbey was founded in the 12th century and sits on the edge of the River Wye. Its ruins are incredibly impressive and it's beloved by locals, visitors and even great artists alike.

When i first caught sight of this monastery, I was in awe. The still standing center, though in ruins, gives this sight a haunting atmosphere.
