This is not the old ferry to Herreninsel, but the new one that runs very well. However, this ferry is not open to the public. To get to the Herreninsel, the ports of Gstadt, Prien am Chiemsee and Bernau (with the Chiemseeschifffahrt scheduled boat) must be used.

This ferry normally does not go to Fraueninsel, but only to Herreninsel. The only exception is when the ferry to Fraueninsel is being serviced or in the event of engine failure. The departure point for Fraueninsel is in Gstadt, but is also not open to the public.
