The beach promenade along the Baltic Sea with a wide sandy beach was built between 1898 and 1899 and was inaugurated in 1904. The special atmosphere results from the generous dimensions and the view of the baths and the international ferry traffic. From the end of 2010 to mid-2012, sections of the beach promenade were provided with a storm-proof substructure made of asphalt and granite paving. The wrought-iron railings between the promenade and the beach have remained. Barrier-free beach access, play areas for children, a lake terrace and a beach bar were added. [7] At the northern end, the beach promenade goes up the hill into the largely natural landscape of the Brodten steep bank with the Hermannshöhe viewpoint or into a footpath to the Mövenstein near the beach.

Despite the width of the promenade, it can get crowded here! Cycling is allowed, but consideration is required! (Which should be taken for granted anywhere anyway).

Very good for rollerblade, skate and longboard fans, but a bit overbuilt for my taste. Obviously full of animals in summer

At the beginning of September 2020, after a long period of redesign, the new Priwall promenade along the major tourist project “BeachBay” (formerly “Priwall Waterfront”) was inaugurated.
The result is 12,000 square meters of laid paving stones, 850 square meters of granite borders, a 60 m long multi-level water staircase, water features, almost 30 benches in the shape of a boat, two larger playgrounds and many (sitting) sculptures.
You've done something, but it's also a taste bud. You can meet each other there (tourists, hikers, bikers, skaters, etc.) because the promenade is very wide. I am a little skeptical about the amount of concrete and cobblestones, but as already described, everyone has their own point of view.

In my opinion, you are actually allowed to cycle there, which is not necessarily to be expected. I mean, it said something about walking pace on some sign. So, do not board a full jug and then nobody will pull you off the bike ;-)

On the wide Travemuende beach promenade you can also relax on a mountain bike and watch the beach life. Cycling is expressly permitted - of course, the large number of pedestrians must be considered. However, the promenade is so wide that if you are careful and drive a little more along the edge, you won't get in the way.
From there you can continue to the Brodten cliffs, past Hermannshöhe to the Niendorf harbor. One of the most beautiful routes around here.

The most important thing has already been written. I think it's particularly good that cycling is expressly permitted. At walking pace, but allowed. And with mutual consideration and a friendly "Moin!" or "Thank you!" succeeds too.
