The JHQ (from: Joint Headquarters, German: joint headquarters) Rheindahlen was a military base north of Rheindahlen in the district Mönchengladbacher West. He served from 1954 to 2013 as the headquarters of various associations of British forces and NATO. Among other things, he hosted the staff of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), a NATO Rapid Reaction Force. The JHQ Rheindahlen formed its own district with (from 1954 to around 12,000) only 185 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) [1] and 2000 buildings, including schools, churches, theaters (former), sports fields and shopping center.
