The port of Wismar was an important trading center of the Hanseatic League. Due to the flourishing trade on the Baltic Sea Wismar became a prosperous city and that can still be recognized today at its charming harbor. Since 1211, the port of Wismar has been able to maintain its position and shape, giving centuries of insight into its historical condition.
