The kidney mill is one of the longest-running mills on the Breitbach. The interpretation of the name is unclear, however. This may be derived from the surname of an unknown miller. It is more likely, however, that it is the "mill by the rocks" or the "stone mill". The Middle High German word nuor, rock, is reminiscent of today's name. For a long time the plant was named Bulachsmühle after the former settlement in its vicinity.

Mountain biking

The Nierenmühle (also known as Bulachsmühle) is one of the oldest mills on the Breitbach stream. It was first documented in 1359 and for a long time belonged to Ebrach Abbey, to whose Mönchsondheim district it was part. At times, the mill powered three millstones.
