Road Cycling Highlight
The Tignes dam (French "Barrage du Chevril") is a dam near the winter sports resort of Tignes in France in the Savoie department. It builds up the Isère to the "Lac du Chevril", in which the old village of Tignes disappeared in 1952.
The dam has a 180 m high arch dam as a barrier. At the time of its construction, it was the largest arch dam in Europe. The designer was André Coyne.
