Small mountain with a great vantage point. You can have a good picnic here. A footpath leads uphill to the summit. On the way you pass a barbecue area and the remains of the wall or castle. Historical, idyllic place with a view!

Nice all-round view from this place.

According to Wikipedia: In the 11th century, a castle was founded on a 435 m high basalt hilltop to secure the Cologne-Frankfurter road running west.

In 1220 a Wigand von Weltersburg (Weltirsberch) was mentioned as a witness in a document by Heinrich von Isenburg. Half of the castle in Weltersburg belonged to the Counts of Sayn, the other half was owned by the Lords of Isenburg. In 1354 a Saynian bailiff had his seat in Weltersburg. In 1356 Weltersburg came as a dowry to the Westerburg lordship. In a feud with the Counts of Katzenelnbogen in 1413, the citizens of Weltersburg were harmed and Weltersburg taken. In 1423 Weltersburg was conquered again and in 1425 a truce was established. In 1581 Weltersburg Castle was apparently already in poor condition and by 1670 it had completely fallen into disrepair
