Karst springs are typical manifestations of the Jura landscape. They can be relatively weak at around 10 liters per second, but they can also be very heavy with up to 750 liters per second. It is groundwater from the Alb, which has trickled down through cracks and channels in the karstified limestone and is usually dammed on the Ornatenon.

The Karsquelle is a little bigger than I thought. It's incredibly clean, clear and quiet. Like a mirror surface it lies in front of you, simply spectacular what Mother Nature has to offer.

A spring, on the trail Mühlenrunde, with always the same temperature of 11 degrees. Here the karst spring can be used as a water treading basin.
