🐃 🐃 🐃Advantages of water buffalo as a landscape keeper:
In the past, the river valley was used for agriculture (e.g. plowing rice fields). Later in 1995 the Tegeler Fließ was defined as a fauna-flora-habitat. This is the highest rating that a nature reserve can have. The EU has issued strict guidelines for nature reserves. The Fauna-Flora-Habitats Directive is a nature conservation directive of the European Union. It stands for the protection of the diverse species in this area by preserving their natural habitats. This guideline includes not only animals but also rare plants.
The Fliessal is a flood meadow landscape in which special machines had to be used due to the wet surfaces. Since normal machines would sink into the swamp areas, they had to be equipped with large caterpillars, which were, however, very expensive.

Seeing the water buffalo here is something special. Sometimes you hear them splashing before you have a glimpse through the trees. Respect the fences, and be quiet so that they are not disturbed.
