Seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation and of the Council of the Bar Associations of Rome, the Palace of Justice is also known as "Palazzaccio", a popular nickname given to it by the Romans for its immense size.
Built between 1889 and 1911 by the architect Guglielmo Calderini, the Palace of Justice is considered one of the great works that followed the proclamation of Rome as the capital of the Kingdom of Italy.

The Palace of Justice in Rome (Palazzo di Giustizia in Italian) is the seat of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Judicial Public Library, is located in the Prati district of Rome. It fronts onto the Piazza dei Tribunali, the Via Triboniano, the Piazza Cavour, and the Via Ulpiano. The huge building is popularly called in Italian the 'Palazzaccio' (the bad Palace).
